TEXT:
Ephesians 5:15-18
15.
Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise,
16.
making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
17.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
18.
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with
the Spirit.
(New International Version Holy
Bible)
TOPIC:
MAKING THE MOST OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY
In
life, everybody has their share of opportunities. Whether big or small,
opportunities are meant to be taken and utilized.
Paul
cautions his readers to live wisely, not unwisely. He also tells them to
understand what the Lord's will is, and not to be foolish. Every successful
person you see today, regardless of how you define success, took certain
opportunities when they came their way.
Unfortunately,
some people misuse their given opportunities and end up in misery. Paul warns
us not to get drunk on wine. You need to be sane to leverage on opportunities
when they come. Instead of getting drunk, you should be filled with the Holy
Spirit.
The
vision we are to wait for this year, as our theme stipulates, is one that
requires being sane and ready. Some have missed many good, once - in - a -
lifetime opportunities due to alcohol. Find your way back to sanity - make the
most of every opportunity that presents itself. God is fair to all. Life is
fair to all.
QUESTION: What
opportunities have you missed as a result of not being sane and alert?
PRAYER: Keep me in check, O Lord. Help me to cash in on every opportunity You allow to come my way, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain Blessed
