TEXT:
James 1:23-25
23:
Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who
looks at his face in a mirror
24:
and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks
like.
25:
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and
continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be
blessed in what they do.

Bible)
TOPIC:
OBEYING THE MIRROR
The
mirror is a cheap instrument that reflects the grandeur of an expensively
dressed queen and/or a poorly dressed peasant. In James analogy on the mirror
of God's Word, it is meant to help people see what is wrong with their lives
and make necessary corrections.
Interestingly,
people do not look at the mirror for others, but for themselves. But some
people make such an error - they listen to a message for others. Then you hear
them say, This message is just for John. I wish he were here to repent"
But nobody looks into the mirror for another.
Those
who look into the mirror do so for the purpose of obeying it. That is, they
will remove whatever spot they see on their face and may even change their
whole dressing if the reflection they get from the mirror does not please them!
Remember
that just as the mirror does not lie, God's Word does not lie. Nobody argues
with the mirror as to whether what it reflects is true or not. The Mirror is
always correct. Therefore, obey it.
QUESTION:
Do you obey your 'mirror'?
PRAYER:
Help me to obey the reflection of the Mirror. Don't give me peace until I do
so, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
