Hebrews 11:1-16
TOPIC:
EMULATE THE HEROES OF FAITH
Realizing that faith is
an assurance of what is hoped for and being certain of what is not seen, few
heroes are cited in today’s devotion.
Abel adopted such faith
and offered God a better sacrifice than Cain. The world could not hold Enoch
because he believed in God and was not allowed to experience death since he
pleased Him.
Noah built an Ark to
save himself and his family by standing out in his generation as a man of
faith.
Abraham left his people
and inheritance and relocated to a place he would later receive as an
inheritance by faith. He lived in tents, likewise Isaac and Jacob.
They did that because
their spiritual eyes had seen a future city with God as its foundation,
architect and builder.
Abraham and Sarah who
had passed procreation age ended up having countless descendants. These heroes
were living by what they only saw and welcomed them from afar. They knew they
were only aliens and strangers in this world.
As such, God was not
ashamed to identify Himself with them by preparing a city for them.
QUESTION:
How is your faith aligning with that of these heroes?
PRAYER:
Father, educate me on how to build my faith and make it as strong as that of
those heroes, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
