TEXT:
Habakkuk 2:20
Verse 20:
But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.
(English Standard Version Holy
Bible)
TOPIC:
THE VIRTUE OF SILENCE
In
the early days, most ECWA assemblies had today's text boldly written behind the
pulpit. That gave worshippers coming into the auditorium a sense of reverence
and awe as they were reminded of the person of the God they had come to
worship.
It made a salient suggestion that every human being was to be silent in the presence of the one who owns all. But nowadays, many people like loud services. In fact, they assume that the louder a service is, the more anointing is present and at work.
While it is a fact that silence does not completely mean
virtue, to a large extent a noisy environment hardly allows for concentration.
Accessing God requires a level of concentration.
As
we await the vision, according to this year's theme, there is need to do so
with all the concentration that we can muster. The Holy Spirit needs a quiet
heart in which to hatch the vision. Learn the discipline of silence - there is
some virtue in it.
QUESTION: Why
are you afraid of silence?
PRAYER: Quieten
my soul, o God. Deep in the recesses of my heart, help me to hear You, in Jesus
name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
