TEXT: 2 Peter 3:18; Romans 14:17

2 Peter 3:18- But continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory, now and forever! Amen.

Romans 14:17- For God’s Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives.

(Good News Translation Holy Bible)

TOPIC: BUILDING KINGDOM CAPACITY

Building and growing are intrinsic parts of human interest. There is in every well-meaning human being a longing to advance and/or improve. It follows that building God’s Kingdom on earth requires capacity on the part of those to do it.

Peter mentions two areas of growth required of those whom God can use to advance His Kingdom. He speaks of growing in grace and growing in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since God works through human beings to advance His on earth, it is necessary that their capacity in grace and knowledge be at optimal level.

God’s grace gives man what he does not have, but his knowledge of Christ helps him to access such grace. In our quest this year to occupy till I Christ comes, it is important that we trust God to grow our capacity. We cannot do this on our own strength since the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

QUESTION: What setbacks do you have in attaining the capacity God desires?

PRAYER: Lord, please build and use me to build Your Kingdom. Amen.
