Luke 19:22-26
22.
“You wicked servant! The king roared. ‘Your own words condemn you. If you knew
that I’m a hard man who takes what isn’t mine and harvests crops I didn’t
plant,
23.
why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some
interest on it.’
24.
“Then, turning to the others standing nearby, the king ordered, ‘Take the money
from this servant, and give it to the one who has ten pounds.’
25.
“’But, master,’ they said, ‘he already has ten pounds!’
26.
“’Yes,’ the king replied, ‘and to those who use well what they are given, even
more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have
will be taken away.

TOPIC:
PROFIT-MAKING IN KINGDOM BUSINESS
Considering
Luke 19 in context, Jesus is approaching His last week on earth until the
crucifixion. As He prepares the world for the critical event, one wonders why
He would shift focus to faithful and profit-making stewardship. It would appear
Jesus is saying that He would be counting on the faithful and prudent
stewardship of believers to promote the ideals of His kingdom on earth.
The
two faithful and prudent servants are rewarded with the responsibility to take
charge of cities. This brings the master and his rewarded servants together in
profit terms because the reason he traveled was to appointed king (Luke 19:12,
15).
It
must be understood, however, that unlike today where many are involved in
Kingdom business for their personal enrichment, Christ as called believers into
the business whose profit/credit goes to Him.
As
believers labor towards that end, Christ meets their personal needs and
concerns Matthew 6:33 says that if we seek first His Kingdom and righteousness,
all other things will be added to us! So, our profit as believers comes when we
profit God’s Kingdom.
QUESTION:
Are you making profit or incurring losses to God’s Kingdom?
PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, please make me profitable in Your Kingdom. Expand Your Kingdom
through me. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
