TEXT:
Psalm 122:1-9
1.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
2.
Our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem-
3.
Jerusalem, built as a city [should be], solidly joined together,
4.
where the tribes, the tribes of the LORD, go up to give thanks to the name of
the LORD. (This is an ordinances for Israel.)
5.
There, thrones for judgment are placed, thrones of the house of David.
6.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper;
7.
may there be peace within your walls, prosperity within your fortresses.”
8.
Because of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be with you.”
9.
Because of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

TOPIC:
THE JOY IN WORSHIPPING GOD
Worship is the act of
adoring and giving reverence to a superior divine Being. But some choose to
give that adoration to inferior spirits or creatures made by man. But here, the
Psalmist had happily decided to join the worshippers of the true God.
This reminds me about
the time some of us used to travel for about 3-5 kilometers to worship in other
villages. The joy and love was so profound that you would wish that such
glorious worship is brought back.
Indeed, Christians need
to have a true and loving fellowship with one another and with the Almighty God
we worship. His glory, honour, peace and joy must be felt in our hearts and
practically demonstrated in this worship.
QUESTION:
Does your worship sincerely reflect the respect, desire and honour you have for
God?
PRAYER:
Lord God, help and guide me to give You the sincere honour You deserve whenever
I worship You both at home and at any place of worship, in Jesus name, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
