TEXT:
Ezra 6:19-22
TOPIC:
THE PASSOVER
In today’s text, the
exiled return to their regular pattern of worship. The Passover reminded them
of the way God rescued them from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 12:1-30), just as in
the days of Hezekiah (2 Chron.).
The outstanding thing
about the celebration is the call for cleanliness. The cleanliness led to the
inclusion of the non-Jewish people who genuinely sought the true God, just as
in the days of Rahab and Ruth (Josh. 2; Ruth 1-4).
During their festivals,
Christians should carry along unbelievers who are willing to identify with our
God.
QUESTION:
What prompted some of the pagans to identify with the Jews’ Passover?
PRAYER:
Father, help me to avoid discriminating against those who do not know You
during festive periods, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
