TEXT:
Psalm 119:97-106
TOPIC:
SEEKING GOD IN HIS WORD
Where should a person
who seeks God go to find Him? God’s Word, of course! While this may sound
obvious, there are some today who profound that God is in each person and they
only need to reach inward to find Him.
So, they teach that,
though the Bible is helpful in helping people to seek and know God, they need
to count more on their personal experience.
Consequently, there are
ministries and ‘churches’ that are founded and run on the personal experience.
But the Psalmist seeks God through the Word, expressing his love for it.
It is important to note
that in seeking God through His Word, there are times and instances where it
hits on some vital parts of us like our pride, our appetite, our slothfulness,
and other areas that do not conform to the character of God.
This is a part of our
conforming process. The Word is given to teach, correct, rebuke, and train us
in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
You cannot seek and
know God outside His Word. But how much of it do you study? How far are you
willing to go in obeying it?
QUESTION:
What is God’s Word to you?
PRAYER:
Open my eyes to see You in Your Word. Open my ears to hear You in Your Word.
Open my mind to understand You through Your Word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
