Revelation 22:16-21
16.
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I
am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
17.
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!”
And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life
freely.
18.
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this books: If
anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written
in this book;
19.
and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall
take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the
things which are written in this book.
20.
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even
so, come Lord Jesus!
21.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

REWARDS FOR HEARERS OF THE WORD
The Almighty God, the
most righteous King, will give equal justice to everybody in His kingdom. This
will be on the basis of what one does and not who he is.
God will justly reward
both the obedient and the disobedient. The faithful who hears and accepts His
invitation (verse 17) will enjoy the water of life. This great privilege is not
reserved for the highly placed in society or church leaders but available to
whoever comes.
Before the Lord, the
everlasting and righteous King, all will be treated equally according to what
they have done. Those who disobey, reject or distort the King’s message will be
severely punished. They will not enjoy the tree of life. What a painful
experience!
Therefore, it is
important to read, listen to and obey the heavenly King’s Word. We must not
disrespect or distort God’s Word but hold it with all respect and obedience.
QUESTION:
How do you show respect for God’s Word?
PRAYER:
Lord Almighty, grant me Your favor and grace to read and obey Your Word, in
Jesus name, Amen.
