TEXT: MATTHEW 5:13
TOPIC: SALT OF THE EARTH
MATTHEW 5:13 NIV
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt
loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
SALT OF THE EARTH
In speaking to His followers, Jesus addressed the
issue of identity by declaring them “the salt of the earth.”
In the ancient world, salt was highly valued, not
only for flavour but also for preservation.
As believers, we are called to influence the world
by preserving God’s truth and revealing the richness of His grace in our lives.
However, Jesus warns that if salt loses its
saltiness, it becomes worthless. This serves as a call to authentic Christian
living.
Our words, actions, and presence should reflect
Christ in a world that desperately needs hope and integrity.
We are not meant to blend in, but to stand out with
grace and truth.
Am I living in a way that brings the flavour of
Christ into my environment?
QUESTION: Are your actions providing the necessary
preservation for the world we live in?
PRAYER: Lord, help me be a faithful witness,
preserving truth and spreading Your goodness wherever I go. Amen.
