TEXT: MATTHEW 5:14–16
TOPIC: LIGHT OF THE WORLD
MATTHEW 5:14–16 NIV
14: “You are the light of the world. A town built on
a hill cannot be hidden.
15: Neither do people light a lamp and put it under
a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the
house.
16: In the same way, let your light shine before
others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Jesus referred to His disciples as “the light of the
world” (Matthew 5:14). Just as a city on a hill cannot be hidden, believers are
called to live visibly for God’s glory. Light reveals, guides, and brings hope.
When we reflect Christ’s light through our words and
deeds, we offer direction and truth to a world shrouded in sin and despair.
Jesus urges us not to hide our faith but to let it
shine, so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
Our lives should point beyond ourselves to the One
who provides true light.
QUESTION: Does my life reflect the light of Christ
in a way that draws others to Him?
PRAYER: Lord, help me shine Your light boldly and
humbly, so that others may see You and glorify Your name. Amen.
