Lamp for My Path: Finding Direction in Scripture

WEDNESDAY, 27 AUGUST 2025

TEXT: John 7:37-44

TOPIC: YOU CANNOT BE NEUTRAL ABOUT THE TRUTH

Jesus, who is the embodiment of truth, declares that one cannot be neutral on the matters of truth. There is no standing of the fence. You are either for Him or against Him. You are either siding the truth or falsehood, righteousness or unrighteousness.

On the last day of the festival, Jesus gave an open invitation to believe in Him or reject Him, the living water. Jesus’ word splits the crowd into believers and unbelievers, lovers of truth and haters of truth.

In every organization or society there are three types of people: those who have made decision against something and those who are indecisive.

Indecisive people are dangerous because they are like Judas Iscariot. Judas is the epitome of a man of double standards. He is a core member of Christ’s team and a member of the high priest’s team.

These kinds of people sometimes switch their loyalty between two leaders. A wise leader will do well to keep such fellow at bay.

QUESTION: Are you neutral about the truth?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to make decisions that are in keeping with Your will. Amen.

Remain Blessed
