TEXT: John 7:14-24

 

TOPIC: WHERE DOES YOUR TEACHING COME FROM?

 

At the height of the festival, Jesus went up into the temple when all hope of seeing Him was lost. Jesus stood up and began to teach. His teaching was so powerful, impactful, logical, approving, effective, and spirit-filled that the Jews could not help but ask in astonishment, “How does this man have such learning when he has never been taught?”

 

The paraphrase could be: “How does this man deliver such a scholarly, powerful, and excellent sermon delivery without certification from Cambridge, Oxford, or Harvard Universities?”

 

Jesus’ response could be paraphrased as: “Yes, I had no formal education in theology, but God Himself is the source of my teaching, which is why I have consistently focused on the glory of God, who is the source of my teaching.”

 

QUESTION: Who is the source of the teaching and preaching of our modern-day preachers?

 

PRAYER: May I not be a victim of messages that have a questionable source, dear Lord. Amen.
