TOPIC: THE
IMPORTANCE OF BASIC DOCTRINES FOR FAMILIES
Today is children’s day.
This is a day dedicated by the Federal Government of Nigeria to honour and
celebrate our children.
Yesterday’s text (Matthew
18:1-11) demonstrate Christ’s love for children. In this text, the writer
emphasizes the importance of teaching and obedience in living in the Promised
Land.
The future of any family,
nation or Church depends on their children. The author of Deuteronomy
emphasizes the fact that doctrinal training for families is very crucial.
The word of God should be
on display not only in our homes but in the hearts of children if we expect
them to follow the Lord. Today’s teaching is apt because the word of God is the
foundation for the family.
We need to follow the Old
Testament example of teaching, loving, caring and investing in our children.
Christian parents should not fail to impart their faith in their children.
QUESTION: As
a Christian, what do you teach your children?
PRAYER: Help
us, O Lord, to see the need to teach our little ones basic Christian doctrines,
in Jesus name. Amen.
