ARE THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD
The Jewish leaders know
the law of the prophets and the prophecies but refuse to confess Jesus as the
Messiah.
In today’s text, Jesus
confronted His disciples with this crucial question: “Who do people say the son
of man is?” (vs. 13).
Just as in Jesus’ day,
people today see Jesus as a miracle worker and great teacher. Some other
religions see Him as Grand Master.
Here, Jesus wants us to
know if His disciples have a better understanding beyond some of the perverted
views above. But notice the disciples’ silence until Peter came up with the
superb answer.
This bold statement about
Christ opened a new chapter for the work of the Church because this is a true
confession.
Christ is the Son of the
living God, Christ the Saviour is God Himself who came down in human form to
take our death upon himself. Praise the Lord!
QUESTION: Do
you also understand Christ beyond the common and worldly views of Him?
PRAYER: O
God, please reveal to me the person of Your Son Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
