28:16-20
TOPIC: ALL AUTHORITY BELONGS TO HIM
All
authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus, the King of kings, as He
rules over all. Jesus demonstrated His power and authority, proved to His
disciples that He is truly risen and went to Galilee where they saw Him (vs.
16-17).
Jesus declared that his
authority is from heaven (vs. 18) and that the disciples should rule through
this power and multiply themselves through discipleship.
These declarations were
Jesus’ last wish on earth before returning to His Father – just like the last
words of a dying man.
This is how important and
urgent Jesus’ command was to His disciples. The disciples were required to
multiply beyond the boundaries of Jerusalem because the universe belongs to
Him.
QUESTION: How
are you carrying out Jesus’ command of discipleship and witnessing to the
world?
PRAYER: Lord
Jesus, we worship You for giving us the authority and power to perform your
desire in Jesus’ name. Amen.
