TEXT: 1
Corinthians 16:13
TOPIC: KEEPING
WATCH
A story is told of a very
wealthy man who could not sleep one night. He strolled out of his mansion to
the security man’s post only to find him fast asleep. He woke the security man
up and then decided to go back to his mansion.
After about thirty
minutes, he came back with a bunch of cash and threw it into the laps of the
security man. He then went back to his house and came back after two hours.
This time he found the
security man busy counting the money and budgeting how he would spend it! When
interest is high, giving attention is not difficult.
Apostle Paul, in today’s
text, admonishes believers to watch (be on your guard), stand firm in the
faith, be strong and courageous.
Imagine that politicians
were told that by being committed to God and the church, they would get votes!
Peoples’ commitment to
anything, including spiritual matters, is usually at par with the commensurate
interest and benefit they drive.
So, when you find your
attention in the things of God dwindling, check where your interest is.
QUESTION:
What is your level of interest in God and the things of the Holy Spirit?
PRAYER:
Give me a desire, an interest, a hunger and a thirst after opportunity to stand
for You. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
