THE DANGER OF REBELLION
The
Church seems to be going through a stage where rebellion is the order of the
day.
We
hear of the rebellion of youth against the elders of the church, members
against minsters of the gospel and even children against their parents. This is
caused by our perception that we have become enlightened.
Korah,
Dathan and Abiram along with 250 other Levites rebelled against Aaron and the
leader of the people - Moses. They felt that because they were equally holy,
they were qualified to undertake the kind of ministry Aaron was doing.
God's
anger was about to burn against them until Aaron and Moses pleaded with God not
to destroy the entire people because of the sin of one person.
We
must be very careful not to bring problems upon our lives and those of others
through rebellion.
QUESTION: What
is your attitude towards those who have authority over your life?
PRAYER: Forgive
me, dear Lord, for any attitude in me that has a semblance of rebellion and
grant me a submissive heart as I continue to serve You, in Jesus name. Amen.
