TEXT:
Luke 6:12-19
12:
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night
praying to God.
13:
When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them,
whom he also designated apostles:
14:
Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip,
Bartholomew,
15:
Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,
16:Judas son of James,
and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
17:
He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his
disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from
Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon,
18:
who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by
impure spirits were cured,
19:
and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and
healing them all.

TOPIC:
BE AN INSTRUMENT FOR NOBLE PURPOSES
The
Lord Jesus spent all night praying. Yet, the Spirit led Him to choose Judas,
who would later betray Him, to be among the twelve disciples.
No
matter how prayerful we are, we cannot avoid certain trials because some of
them, like Judas, are part of God's divine plan for our lives.
On
the other hand, we need to be very cautious that we don't end up suffering the
fate of Judas, fulfilling the negative prophecies of God. Proverbs 16:4 says:
"The LORD Works out everything for his own ends even the wicked for a day
of disaster.
However,
2 Timothy 2:20-21 says, "In a large house there are articles not only of
gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and
some for ignoble.
If
a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble
purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good
work"
QUESTION:
Have you cleansed yourself to be an instrument for noble purposes?
PRAYER:
Search me, O God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. See
if there is any offensive way in me and lead me on the way to everlasting life,
in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
