Radiant Renewal: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Refreshment

WEDNESDAY, 6 MARCH 2024

TEXT: Psalm 11:1-7

1: In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain.

2: For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

3: When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

4: The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.

5: The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.

6: On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

7: For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.

(New International Version Holy Bible)

TOPIC: THE LORD OBSERVES EVERYONE ON EARTH

The population of the world as at January 1, 2023, was about 7.9 billion. Based on the Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data, the population of Nigeria as at June 27, 2023, was 221,364.133.

By the time you will be reading this devotional, the global population would have been far above 8 billion. Despite these huge population figures, the Bible tells us that the Lord observes everyone on earth!

Would you have acted differently if you knew that the Lord observed everything you did? And that includes your secret motives, your secret lover, your secret chatting with someone's spouse, your secret addiction to pornography, etc.

We need to stop fooling ourselves that we can hide our sins from God. "God observes everyone on earth!" and will judge each according to his or her deeds - whether done in secret or in the open.

QUESTION: Can you hide from Him who is omnipresent?

PRAYER: Please Father, help me to understand that I can run but I cannot hide from You, in Jesus name. Amen.

Remain Blessed
