TEXT:
James 3:13-18
13.
Who is wise and understanding among you? He should show his works by good
conduct with wisdom’s gentleness.
14.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and
lie in defiance of the truth.
15.
Such wisdom does not come down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
16.
For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of
evil.
17.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, complaint,
full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.
18.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

LIVE AN HONOURABLE LIFE
WHAT can make you live
an honourable life? What should you do to court the favour of the Lord?
We are told that we
need wisdom and understanding to live a life that is pleasing to God. We are
expected to do good works with Godly humility, avoid jealousy and selfish
ambition and avoid boasting and lying because they are earthly, unspiritual and
demonic.
We should seek wisdom
from God because it gives no room for all of these and other vices. In order to
live an honourable life, we must be ready to allow the Spirit of God lead us so
that we can live in righteousness.
QUESTION:
Are you living an honourable life?
PRAYER:
Precious Father, please help me to live the life that brings honor to Your
name. Amen.
