TEXT:
JOB 40:1-14
TOPIC:
THE LORD ANSWERS JOB (2)
God
asked Job if he wanted to challenge Him. Job felt that God had abandoned him
but when He spoke, Job was humbled about his previous demands from God.
Job's
circumstances had changed, but he was still lost and miserable. In his speech
in verses 3-5, his tone had changed completely; there was no more rage; and he
was not challenging his Creator.
In
all their arguments, Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar and Elihu could not bring Job to
this level. Only the revelation of God could humble Job and set him in his
right place before the Lord.
Brethren,
from all the discussions on Job so far, we need to understand that man cannot
save himself and that salvation belongs to the Lord alone. Without Jesus, every
human spirit will perish forever.
Just
as God saved Job, let us also thank God for our own salvation. The text ended
by comparing Job with an animal (Behemoth). That is just to remind Job of God's
wondrous creation using the example of a remarkable creature.
QUESTION: What
do you desire from God whenever you are passing through suffering?
PRAYER: Lord,
help me to see You as the Sovereign God so that I can humble myself in my times
suffering. Help me to always thank You for my salvation. Oh Lord, help me to
know that I cannot save myself and that salvation belongs to You alone, in
Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
