TEXT:
Luke 24:9-12
9:
When
they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to
all the others.
10:
It
was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them
who told this to the apostles.
11:
But
they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like
nonsense.
12:
Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of
linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had
happened.

International Version Holy Bible)
TOPIC:
THE TRUTH BEARER AS SUSPECT
Immediately
the women left the tomb, they hurried to tell the disciples the good news.
Unfortunately, "they disbelieved the women because their words seemed to them
like nonsense" (verse 11).
Traditionally, the Jews don't consider the testimonies of women and children as something serious. Jesus knew this and so deliberately chose to elevate these two groups in His teachings and relationships.
Jesus treated women and children as equals
to men because they are created in the image of God and endowed with special
abilities, intelligence and granted the same privilege of salvation by faith.
Unfortunately, many African tribes and communities do not see women and
children as being as important as men.
Although
the men refused the women's testimony, that never changed the truth as they
soon discovered when Peter ran ahead of them, perhaps hoping to be the first to
say it as it is.
Whether
you prefer to listen to the testimony of a woman or a little child regarding
the truth of the gospel or not, the truth remains that Jesus has risen from the
dead.
QUESTION:
Do you question the truth because of the type of person who brings you that
truth?
PRAYER:
He arose, He arose, Hallelujah Christ arose. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
