Promises of Hope: Daily Reflections on God’s Faithfulness

TUESDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2024

TEXT: Acts 25:13-27

TOPIC: PAUL BEFORE GOVERNOR PORCIOUS FESTUS AND KING AGRIPPA

Apostle Paul’s case in now before King Agrippa. We see Paul as a righteous man, a prisoner bound with chains, brought before corrupt judges trying a faithful man.

The world is full of such immoral judges before whom believers’ cases are brought for adjudication.

Apostle Paul was invited to speak before Festus and Agrippa so that Festus would have a better idea of what to present in his official report to the Emperor.

From the discussions, there is enough evidence that Paul is not guilty but for the fact that he appealed to Caesar.

Paul saw through the plot against his life and demanded to stand trial before Caesar. The world system is cunning and crafty, brethren.

Therefore, we need God-given common sense to as to make wise decisions.

Although Paul was not afraid to face evil people and suffering in Jerusalem, he didn’t want to put his head in a lion’s mouth if he could avoid it.

Every follower of Jesus is the target of false accusations by the accuser of the brethren. But we need to know the laws and customs of the environment in which we live as Christians and, above all, we should know that Jesus is our defence against condemnation and false accusation.

QUESTION: Are you having problems because your case has been brought before an unrighteous judge?

PRAYER: O Lord, help me to understand Your words and the environment in which I operate so as to know how to respond to rulers who subject me to trials, persecution and suffering, in Jesus name. Amen.

Remain Blessed
