TEXT:
Luke 19:13 (KJV)
Verse 13:
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto
them, Occupy till I come.
TOPIC:
OCCUPY TILL I COME
The
call from last year’s ECWA theme to look as Christ comes with the clouds can be
grossly misunderstood and misapplied. It can be taken as suggesting that people
should just sit idle while looking forward to the appearance of Christ.
In
the history of the world, there have been predictions made about the day the
world would end by some religious scholars and scientists, which did not come
to pass.
Paul
wrote 1 Thessalonians 4 within a context of such misunderstanding, where some
believers having heard that Christ was returning soon took it literally and
wondered that would become of their relations who had died before the “soon”
return of Christ.
This
year’s theme: “Occupy till I come,” (KJV), which the NIV renders, “Put this
money to work… until I come back,” however, suggests being busy in the Lord’s
service while waiting for His return. The New American Standard Bible actually
states, “Do business with this until I come back.”
The
call this year is for you to be busy in God’s business until He comes. As the
end nears and Satan’s battle intensifies, you are to be in like manner
intensify your ministry in the area Christ has called you. Occupy and dominate
your space of reach in a hopeless world!
QUESTION:
How are you occupying your ministry space?
PRAYER:
May Your Spirit occupy me as I occupy my space of ministry, Oh Lord. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
