How Do you do Daily Devotion?

You did your daily devotion early in the morning to thank God for bringing you to another day. We did that by reading the Scriptures and praying afterwards for God to show us His mercy and favor for today. As you wake up this morning, read our daily devotion below.

TEXT: Philippians 2:1-11

1. Christ encourages you, and his love comforts you. God’s Spirit unites you, and you are concerned for others.

2. Now make me completely happy! Live in harmony by showing love for each other. Be united in what you think, as if you were only one person.

3. Don’t be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves.

4. Care about them as much as you care about yourselves

5. and think the same way that Christ Jesus thought:

6. Christ was truly God. But he did not try to remain equal with God.

7. Instead he gave up everything and became a slave, when he became like us one of us.

8. Christ was humble. He obeyed God and even died on a across.

9. Then God gave Christ the highest place and honored his name above all others.

10. So at the name of Jesus everyone will bow down, those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

11. And to the glory of God the Father everyone will openly agree, “Jesus Christ is Lord!”

TOPIC: FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

Is it possible for a human being to follow the example of Jesus Christ?

Paul reminded the Philippians about the blessings they received from Jesus Christ (v. 1) namely: encouragement, comfort, fellowship with the Spirit and tenderness and compassion.

These were given to them when they united with Christ and received His love. So, Paul, motivated them to imitate Christ. They will be able to do this by being “like minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose” with Him.

Jesus demonstrated this when He humbled Himself and offered His life for our salvation. Jesus showed that we must consider the “significant” of others more important than ourselves and that every believer is saved to serve one another.

We demonstrate that we are true Christians when we “look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others” (v. 4). The grace and mercy of God has been shown to us in Christ in order that we might also be gracious and merciful to others.

QUESTION: Are you imitating Jesus Christ in all you do?

PRAYER: Help me, dear Jesus, to imitate You and not to disappoint You, Amen.
