TEXT: JAMES 1:13-15
TOPIC: TEMPTATION’S STEP-BY-STEP TRAP
JAMES 1:13-15 NIV
13: When tempted, no one should say, “God is
tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
14: but each person is tempted when they are dragged
away by their own evil desire and enticed.
15: Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth
to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
TEMPTATION’S STEP-BY-STEP TRAP
Satan, the architect of temptation, uses a
predictable four-step formula: Desire, Doubt, Deception, and Disobedience.
His tactics date back to the temptation of Eve in
the Garden of Eden.
Temptation begins with a sinful desire within,
whether for power, money, or revenge. If those desires are absent, temptation
loses its grip. Temptation breeds from within.
QUESTION: What desires are you struggling with that
Satan exploits?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me recognise and combat my
harmful desires and patterns.
