WILL PUNISH NATIONS THAT RISE AGAINST HIS PEOPLE
God, who had punished the
Israelites and Judah for their atrocities, will surely restore them after serving
their punishment.
When the pre-exile
prophets prophesied that one of the major things that Jeremiah spoke about was
the restoration, Habakkuk also explained that after Babylon completed the
destruction of Judah, they would in turn be punished by the Lord. Zechariah also
received this message which he delivered to Judah in this chapter.
When God punishes His
children’s disobedience, He will bring them back in love to experience His goodness
as He punishes those tools He has used against them.
Let’s draw close to Him
with the totality of our hearts an see what He will do to those who have caused
us so much pain.
QUESTION: Do
you run away from God whenever He punishes for your wrong-doing?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me the wisdom and strength to always
cling to You even when You punish me because I know that You will bring me to
Your loving grace thereafter, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
