TEXT: Zechariah 14:1-20
TOPIC: GOD IS
SOVEREIGN
God can manifest Himself to the world in many ways.
His sovereignty is not fully understood by people, even those in close relationships
with Him.
He revealed to Prophet Zechariah that He will
gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem, they will take some of His
people into captivity, rape some of the women and commit many other atrocities
but He will rescue them and manifest Himself so powerfully that many people
will bow before Him and come to Jerusalem in search of His blessings.
Because God sometimes manifests Himself in ways
that seem mysterious, we ask why He doe so or why He allows evil to befall
those called by His name. the simple answer to these questions is that the God
we serve is sovereign and does whatever He desires for His own glory.
We must, therefore, trust Him, even amidst our
confusion, so that Hos glory will manifest in our lives.
QUESTION: How
do you always react in the face of God’s mysterious ways?
PRAYER: Help me, dear Father, to understand Your sovereignty,
in Jesus’ name. Amen.
