The Lord Is Near: Finding Him in Your Every Moment

SUNDAY, 13 JULY 2025

TEXT: Psalm 14:1-7

TOPIC: CREDO OF THE FOOL

The dictionary defines fool as “a silly or stupid person; a person who lacks judgement or sense.”

According to the word of God, a fool is not necessarily someone who is silly or stupid. According to the Bible, it is someone who has rebelled against God and His words and lives his life as if God does not exist.

A fool may not be necessarily an atheist. The fool the Bible is talking about here denies God’s rule in their life and in the life of society.

Paul uses the word ‘foolish’ in a similar way in Romans 1:21-22. A fool, according to the Bible, is not someone who lacks intellectual acumen but someone who might have a string of degrees, awards, medals and professional certificates but is championing the cause of gays and lesbians.

Romans 1:21-27 says: “They knew God but neither glorified him…but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened…even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones…men also abandoned natural relations with women.” Champion of these sexual perversions are not illiterates but educated fools.

QUESTION: Are you an intelligent sinner who knows the Bible but lives in disobedience to God?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to avoid being foolish from Your own perspective, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
