TEXT: Psalm
25:1-11
TOPIC: TRUST
IN GOD
Trust in God is one of
the central and core theological concepts of the Old Testament which shows the
rich and deep relationship available to people when they stop relying on
themselves, other people and gods.
Psalm 25:1-7 reveals
David’s solid trust in the Lord in the face of treachery, blackmail and
betrayal. “David was told, ‘Ahithophel your counselor is amongst the
conspirators with Absolom.’ David said, ‘Oh, Lord, I pray you, turn Ahithophel’s
counsel into foolishness’” (2 Samuel 15:31).
It is better to trust in
the Lord than to put your confidence in man.
In Africa, the stories of
betrayals are very common: spouses betraying one another’s trust, friends,
colleagues and even some pastors are betrayers and backstabbers.
Many people are carrying
the deep emotional wounds of betrayal. David learned to trust God the hard way.
QUESTION: How
many people have you betrayed so far?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me the wisdom to watch my back, in
Jesus’ name. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
