The Good Shepherd: Daily Guidance from the Heart of God

TEXT: Genesis 24:28-51

 

TOPIC: HOW DO YOU ADDRESS YOUR NEEDS

             

We can learn these lessons from Abraham’s servant:

1. Learn to appreciate God when your needs are met (vs. 26).

2. Wait to be told what to do. Do not preempt situations simply because you have prayed (vs. 31).

3. Set your priorities right. It was not because of food that Abraham’s servant went to Aram Naharaim. It was a wife and he needed to get acceptance before food, vs. 33, 49.

4. Abraham’s servant got what he wanted, vs. 51-52.

The four steps were simple but demand discipline and self-control.

QUESTION: What lesson have you learned in today’s devotion?

 

PRAYER: In every challenge, there are procedures to handle it. Give me the kind of wisdom I see in the servant of Abraham. Amen.
