TEXT: Luke
12:16-21
TOPIC: SEEKING
GOD IN THE MIDST OF PLENTY
The story is told of a
pastor who, in his prayers, often reminded God about how he abandoned his
lucrative business to serve Him.
He would pray, “God,
please don’t let a problem of not more than N3000 come my way and I am not able
to solve it.”
The story of the rich man
in our text is very instructive. He acknowledged the blessing but failed to
acknowledge the source of it.
This article presupposes
that he attributed the blessing of his farm to his personal hard work,
ingenuity and effort.
God of course, proved him
to be a fool when his life was demanded. It is easier to seek God when in need
than when in plenty.
But it is when in plenty
that one should really seek God. This is because of the intoxication of having
plenty.
It is the Lord who
provides and sustains the plenty that you have. So, seek Him when in plenty and
it will be more genuine to do so when in lack.
QUESTION:
In all honesty, what do you consider to be your source of plenty?
PRAYER:
Draw me closer to You, O God, in the days of my plenty. Help me to recognize
You always. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
