TEXT:
Acts 26:19-32
TOPIC:
CONVERSION ACCOMPANIED BY EVIDENCE OF TRUE REPENTANCE
Paul gave up his past
life as a persecutor of the followers of Christ but was now witnessing to
others for the salvation of their souls.
Apostle Paul was
preaching the gospel of conversion accompanied by the evidence of true
repentance. Having obtained hope and mercy from God, like Paul, we are saved.
Therefore, we have
ample opportunity and ability to speak to small and great people in your
country about the salvation and transformation that awaits them in the Lord
Jesus Christ.
There is also the need
for us to be more interested in telling people about Jesus Christ, about our
personal encounter and freedom from the darkness and traditions that entangled
us.
That was the new found
faith in Christ which Paul proclaimed in his defence which made Festus think
that he was mad. The Gospel of Christ, when properly proclaimed and lived, will
make some people think that believers are crazy.
The message of the
Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. One could see that Apostle
Paul, despite his suffering because of the gospel, continued to trust in the
gospel of Jesus Christ and did not retreat from his stand despite his prolonged
imprisonment.
QUESTION:
Like Apostle Paul, have you had a personal encounter with Christ, a conversion
accompanied by evidence of true repentance?
PRAYER:
O Lord, now that I am in Christ Jesus, help me to stand for You as a believer,
even in the midst of suffering and persecution, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
