TEXT:
Acts 24:1-23
TOPIC:
PAUL BEFORE GOVERNOR FELIX IN CAESAREA
Three charges were
brought against Apostle Paul before Governor Felix.
In response to the
first one, he said that nobody had observed him causing unrest anywhere in
Jerusalem.
Paul did not deny the
second charge but stated that it was not a crime. He declared that even though
he was a believer in all the laws and the Prophets, he still preached the
resurrection of the dead which the majority of Jews believed in.
As for the third
charge, he explained that the purpose of his coming to Jerusalem was to bring
gifts of charity and religious offering to the Jewish nation and nothing that
was impure to the temple.
So, he did nothing
profane but believed and taught the resurrection of the dead.
Apparently, the charges
were without substantial witnesses as everything was based on hearsay.
So, Paul was not being
persecuted for any real crimes but because he believed in Christ and taught the
resurrection of the dead.
QUESTION:
Are you suffering as a believer because you are preaching Christ?
PRAYER:
O Lord Jesus, we pray for brethren throughout the whole world who are going
through suffering because of their faith in Christ. Teach me what to say and
how to respond in the presence of my accusers, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
