TEXT:
Numbers 13:1-3
1:The Lord said to
Moses,
2:“Send some men to
explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each
ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.”
3:So at the Lord’s
command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders
of the Israelites.

TOPIC:
KEEPING FOCUSED IN A DOUBTFUL ATMOSPHERE
The Israelites arrived
Kadesh in full-scale rebellion and the judgment of the Lord followed in
chapters 11-12. Faith at this time seemed to have given way to doubt and
disbelief in God, which led to revolt.
It is obvious that
those who rejected the Lord's covenant promises never enjoyed His covenant
blessings (1Cor. 10:1-13). In all of these upheavals, God was still in the
business of carrying out His divine plans.
It was time to spy on
Canaan (the Promise Land). Read verses 3-15 and you will notice that the
Levites were not mentioned since their work was in the temple and were,
therefore, not part of the military tribes.
QUESTION:
How does today's passage relate to the current condition of the Church Nigeria?
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, it is clear that rebellion, doubt and disbelief towards Your Word
distort our focus on You. We, however, thank You that, in spite of these, You
have not given up on us. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
