TEXT:
John 12:20-26
20:
Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival.
21:
They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,”
they said, “we would like to see Jesus.”
22:
Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.
23:
Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24:
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies,
it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
25:
Anyone
who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this
world will keep it for eternal life.
26:
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My
Father will honor the one who serves me.
TOPIC:
SEEK FOR THE GLORIOUS KING
Christ's
triumphant entry into Jerusalem drew the attention of many people but their
reactions were different.
However,
one of the most interesting reactions was that of the Greeks who sought to see
Jesus, the glorious king. Though their reason was not highlighted, Jesus'
indirect response in verses 23-26 revealed that He understood their need.
Being
Gentile converts who accepted to worship the God of Israel, they could have had
a glimpse of the coming Messiah.
Thus,
they desired to identity with Him in His earthly leadership. But Christ, who
knew and knows all, gave them an appropriate response which appropriately met their
spiritual needs.
Indeed,
anyone who seeks to have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and be part
of His glorious kingdom must accept His sacrificial death on the cross and be
ready to suffer for the very faith it represents.
Thus,
we must remain faithful in Christ, for the sake of eternal life, even at the
expense of our earthly lives.
QUESTION:
Do you really seek Christ?
PRAYER:
My heaven Father, grant me more insights to know and seek for You, in Jesus
name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
