Romans 9:30-10:4
9:30
– What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have
attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;
9:31
– but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of
righteousness.
9:32
– Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of
the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.
9:33
– As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of
offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
10:1
– Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be
saved.
10:2
– For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to
knowledge.
10:3
– For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
10:4
– For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

TOPIC:
RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH
A student who did not
prepare for an examination knew that his five-year course in the university
would be a waste if he did not pass. So, he cheated and passed.
However, since he could
not defend his certificate, his employer fired him because of his poverty of
knowledge and poor performance. It je had taken time to work hard and master
his subject matter, would he have suffered that kind of embarrassment?
In the same manner, we
must yield to God’s instruction and live in full obedience to Him for us to be
considered by God as His righteous people.
QUESTION:
Can God truly state that you are among His righteous people?
PRAYER:
May You find in me a worthy servant and worshipper, Oh Lord. Amen.
