TEXT:
Mark 11:20-25
20.
The next morning Jesus was walking with his followers. They saw the fig tree
that he spoke to the day before. The tree was dry and dead, even the roots.
21.
Peter remembered the tree and said to Jesus, “Teacher, look! Yesterday, you
told that fig tree to die. Now it is dry and dead!”
22.
Jesus answered, “Have faith in God.
23.
The truth is, you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, mountain, fall into the sea.’
And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that what you say will
happen, then God will do it for you.
24.
So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe that you
have received those things, then they will be yours.
25.
When you are praying and you remember that you are angry with another person
about something, forgive that person. Forgive them so that your Father in
heaven will also forgive your sins.

TOPIC:
DID JESUS MEAN EVERYTHING?
A
story was told of a family whose son died and someone who claimed to be a
pastor promised to pray for him to come back to life. The ‘prayer man’ labored
till evening and had to leave without ‘raising’ the boy.
The
man claimed Jesus had promised that “whatever you ask for in prayer, believe
that you receive it” and it shall be done unto you. Could this be what Jesus
meant? Not really. The Word of God had already taught us that whatever we
request from the Father in His name must be according to the will of this same Father
Who is in heaven (1 John 5:14-15). What is this will?
Unfortunately,
many believers think that their wishes and desires are synonymous with the will
of God. Not at all. God’s will is that which exalts Him, points men/women to
Him and upholds and encourages purity and righteousness in man.
Notice
that His conclusion points to the purity of mind and intentions which also
reflects a life above reproach.
QUESTION:
How often have you put your selfish desires and wishes in place of the will of
God?
PRAYER:
I surrender my heart and mind to You, dear Lord, please help me to seek and
live every day according to Your will. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
