TEXT:
Colossians 3:12-17
12.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves
with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
13.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance
against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
14.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in
perfect unity.
15.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you
were called to peace. And be thankful.
16.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one
another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
17.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Holy Bible)
TOPIC:
AN EXTRA CUP OF GRACE
Times
are hard. The days are evil. There is a great need for extra grace to pull
through. Having enjoyed God’s grace in our salvation, we now require grace to
live the new life.
Today’s
text calls us to bear with each other and to forgive grievances. It enjoins us
further to love each other and allow the peace of Christ rule in our hearts.
The surge in sin, tension created by insecurity, bad economy and many other
unpleasant realities have made life unbearable.
This
has brought about a situation where people are venting on others. Husbands
speaking harshly to their wives when told that supplies are running out in the
home, work colleagues transferring aggression on each other, lack of
considering other road users while driving and raining insults on them, the
list goes on and on. All of these realities call for an extra cup of grace! Let
us extend extra grace around every sphere of our interpersonal dealings.
We
cannot afford to do otherwise. There is no sign that this pressure will abate
any time soon. In fact, the closer we get to the end, the harder things will
become. So, let’s extend grace to all and sundry. Begin this today from home,
the highway and workplace. Let grace take over!
QUESTION:
What pressure are you undergoing?
PRAYER:
Lord, as the pressure increases, please grant me the wisdom to apply grace.
Amen.
Remain
Blessed
