TEXT:
Isaiah 61:10
Verse 10
– I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed
me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as
a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with
jewels. New International Version, (NIV)

TOPIC:
CLOTHED IN HIS BEAUTY
Clothing
has since shifted from a means of covering nakedness and shielding the body
from weather hazards.
The
world system has given us a definition of what it means to be clothed or
addressed. It is now no longer clothing but fashion. Fashion as prescribed
especially for ladies today, is to expose some skin. To expose their cleavages,
laps and body contours in see-through skimpy dresses.
This
is not what God provided for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:21).
That clothing may have been made out of animal skin but it radiated the glory
of God.
While
our text of Isaiah 61:10 may speaking in metaphoric terms, “garments of
salvation,” “robe of righteousness,” the fact is that such clothing exudes
God’s character imprinted on His children. So, being clothed in the Lord’s
beauty begins from the choice of fabric and sewing design to the modesty that
is projected.
The
result is the beauty that is presented, which symbolize God’s character. In
such clothing Isaiah delights greatly, because it showcases him in the high
honor of a bridegroom and priest. In the business we have to occupy till He
comes, we want to advertise the gospel in a positive way, and the way we are
clothed has a big say in that.
QUESTION:
What is in your wardrobe? Is it the world clothing you or God?
PRAYER:
Help me to mirror You in my appearance. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
