1 John 3:1-3
1.
What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it – we’re
called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world
doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or
what he’s up to.
2.
But friends, that’s exactly who are: children of God. And that’s only the
beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is
openly revealed, we’ll see him – and in seeing him, become like him.
3.
All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity
of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.

TOPIC:
SEEING HIMSELF AS HE IS
Many
believers are curious about what Jesus and heaven would look like when they
finally get there. Some have even speculated that they will see Jesus the same
way they see Him in pictures and movies!
Some
have imagined seeing three Thrones in heaven with God the Father seated on one,
God the Son on another, and God the Holy Spirit on the other. The speculations
are influenced by the limitations of human imagination.
John
tells us in today’s text that we do not yet know what we will be like. None of
our speculations comes close to what the reality is. He concludes the matter by
assuring us that when He (Christ) appears, we shall be like Him! Hallelujah!
Our
many efforts here on earth to try to be like Christ continue to fall short
because of sin. But when He appears, sin will be no more, the veil of
imperfection will be taken away, and we will see Him no longer through the
lenses that are stained with sin.
Let
Jesus see in you an intense desire to see Him as He is!
QUESTION:
Do you truly want to see Christ as He is?
PRAYER:
Lord, please prepare me to see You as You are and to be like You. Amen.
