TEXT:
Galatians 6:7-10
7.
If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will
harvest what you plant.
8.
If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that
will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from
the Spirit will be eternal life.
9.
We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal
life at the right time. We must not give up.
10.
When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we
should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.

TOPIC:
LIVING BY THE PRINCIPLES OF SOWING AND REAPING
Some
preachers have wrongly taught the concepts of sowing and reaping. Whereas in
farming, the sower ends up with the harvest, in this distorted teaching, the
farm, which in this case is the “Man of God” on whom the seed is sown, ends up
with a larger part of the harvest.
When
has a farm ever benefited from the harvest? Our text begins with warning, “Do
not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.” The principles that are presented by
Paul in our text have nothing to do with money. It is about investing in the
sinful nature verses investing in the spirit nature.
He
establishes the context for this in the preceding chapter, where he lists the
activities of the sinful nature or fruit of the Holy Spirit. The idea is that
when a believer lives by the principles of sowing and reaping, he lives by the
dictates of the Holy Spirit resulting in blessing both on his life and those
around him.
While
it is true that in business terms, investment can yield profit, it is not every
one of it that does so. For those that do, the profit goes to the one investing
not to the channel through which it is done! The believer’s profit is when God
is glorified not when his bank account swells!
QUESTION:
How and where are you sowing?
PRAYER:
You have invested so much in me, Lord. Help me reciprocate. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
