TEXT:
Romans 3:1-8
1.
Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?
2.
Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of
God.
3.
What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness
of God?
4.
By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written,
That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.
5.
But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall
we say? Hat God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human
way.)
6.
By no means! For then how could God judge the world?
7.
But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being
condemned as a sinner?
8.
And why not do evil that good may come?-as some people slanderously charge us
with saying. Their condemnation is just.

Bible)
TOPIC:
DON’T TAKE THE GRACE OF GOD FOR GRANTED
This
chapter opens with a question supposedly asked by a Jew who thought he is above
the Gentile regarding salvation.
If
all human beings are sinners deserving of God’s wrath, except for His grace to
save whoever believes, then nobody can lay claim to salvation bequeathed by
geographical location, tribe or even religious observance.
There
is nothing like “I am not as bad as those form the other tribe or religion
simply because I follow the Law or belong to ‘Church A’ or ‘Church B’.” The Law
was given to expose our helplessness regarding salvation and show us that we
are sinners in need of redemption.
The
Jews’ privileges would not save them unless they accepted Jesus Christ, just
like the Gentiles. Unfortunately, many Church members think that it is God’s
responsibility to love man and demonstrate it through forgiving him because
that is His nature.
God’s
love and grace demand that sin must be punished and whoever rejects His grace
should be ready to face judgement.
QUESTION:
Are you among those who take the grace and mercy of God for granted and
continue wallowing in sin?
PRAYER:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for your grace that found me and the gift of faith
through which I receive mercy. Help me to continue living by faith. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
