TEXT: 1
Corinthians 15:12-19
12. Now
if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there
is no resurrection of the dead?
13. If
there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised;
14. and
if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your
faith has been in vain.
15. We
are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he
raised Christ whom he did not raise if it is true that the not raised.
16. For
if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised.
17. If
Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your
sins.
18.
Then those also who have died in Christ have perished.
19. If
for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be
pitied.

TOPIC: CERTAINTY
OF CHRIST’S RESURRECTION (I)
The centrality of Jesus in
the entire Bible is indisputable. That is why many promoters of different
religions make reference to Him to appeal to unsuspecting listeners. Jesus,
having been raised from the dead, according to the Scripture, is an assurance
that the dead in Christ shall be resurrected by the same power of God (vs. 12,
13).
Paul affirmed how illogical
it would be for preachers to keep preaching the ‘resurrection’ of the saints
when Christ didn’t resurrect! But it is the resurrection that makes
Christianity unique. So many philosophers, non-Christian religious leaders and
atheists have kept fighting against this truth over the centuries without
success.
The truth is always constant
and consistent and no one can prevail against it. Christ rose. So resurrection
is certain for all after death to account for or receive rewards for all that
was done on this side of heaven.
The record of the Bible is
true and has been authenticated by the fulfillment of all prophecies concerning
Jesus.
How He would be born by the virgin
Mary, His ministry on earth, His death, His resurrection, His ascension and His
second coming were all prophesied. All of these fill the pages of the Bible and
were fulfilled, except the last one which will certainly come to pass.
QUESTION: Do
you believe in the resurrection of the dead and life after death?
PRAYER: Let Your grace, dear Lord, keep me standing in the truth of the Gospel of Christ, in Jesus name, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
