There are many Bible verses that teaches about love which every believer need to understand in other to follow the footstep of our Master Jesus Christ which He Himself is the symbol of Love. He came into this world because of love. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Jesus in His preparation for His departure in this earth. He began to teach His disciples after Judas Iscariot has left (John 13:27-33) and Jesus who knows what he (Judas Iscariot) is preparing to do and He teaches them about a new commandment: To love one another.
John 13:34 - A new commandment i give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
This is often called the third great commandment is to love my neighbor as myself Mark 12:27-31.
28. And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?"
29. Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one;
30. and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
31. The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Another Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4. Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;
5. it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
6. it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
7. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8. Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
Another Bible verse is: Romans 12:9-10
9. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;
10. love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor.
Another Bible verse is: 1 John 4:16-21
16. So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
17. In this is love perfected with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so are we in this world.
18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.
19. We love, because he first loved us.
20. If any one says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
21. And this commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should love his brother also.
Another Bible verse is: 1 Peter 4:8
8. Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.
Another Bible verse is: Song of Solomon 4:10
10. How sweet is your love, my sister, my bride! how much better is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your oils than any spice!
Another Bible verse is: Song of Solomon 8:6-7
6. Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame.
7. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly scorned.
