TEXT: RUTH 4:18–22
TOPIC: POWER OF THE TONGUE II
RUTH 4:18–22 NIV
18: This, then, is the family line of Perez: Perez
was the father of Hezron,
19: Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of
Amminadab,
20: Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the
father of Salmon,
21: Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of
Obed,
22: Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father
of David.
POWER OF THE TONGUE II
In yesterday’s devotion, we noted the women’s
prophetic declaration at Obed’s birth, unaware that Boaz would be the
great-grandfather of David and Jesus.
Naomi, who returned empty and bitter (Ruth 1:20),
focused on her losses—her husband and sons—without recognising the blessing of
Ruth, who clung to her with unwavering loyalty (Ruth 1:16–17).
God will often take people and wealth to guide you
where He intends.
QUESTION: Are you bitter towards God for taking
something precious from you?
PRAYER: Lord, help me to focus on my blessings
rather than my losses in Jesus name. Amen!
