TEXT: ZECHARIAH
5:1-4
1: I looked again, and
there before me was a flying scroll.
2: He asked me, “What do
you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits
wide.”
3: And he said to me,
“This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what
it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it
says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished.
4: The Lord Almighty
declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the
house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and
destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”

TOPIC: CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE FOR GOD'S GLORY
The
Lord expressed His displeasure towards the different attitudes portrayed by the
people of Judah through the different visions He showed the prophet.
This
section deals with the sins of stealing and swearing falsely. These and many
other sins characterize the lives of people today, especially those who are
called by the name of the Lord.
People
steal at every given opportunity in markets, offices and even in the church and
continue to tell lies and swear to show that they are honest in the things they
are doing.
The
God that hated those sins is the same God that we are serving today. Therefore,
we must know that because He never changes, He still hates these sins.
Let's
ask Him to change our attitudes and make us people who will stop stealing and
start telling the truth.
QUESTION: How do you feel when you discover that someone has
stolen your belongings or sworn falsely?
PRAYER: God, please purge us of all the habits that defile
us. Make us people that will represent You in this world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Blessed
