One Day at a Time with Jesus

TEXT: John 8:12-20

 

TOPIC: JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

 

Most of the time, we like to think that our days and generation are the most enlightened and sophisticated, especially with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the renaissance of Information Technology (IT).

 

But Jesus implied in John 8:12 that without Him the world is groping in the dark. Not only do we grope in darkness but we love the darkness.

 

Why? Because we are by our fallen nature wicked and evil despite our technological advancements. Any nation or society that rejects Jesus is walking in darkness, whether the nation is technologically advanced or an emerging economy.

 

Any nation that endorses LGBTQ, abortion, pro-choice, domestic partnership, puberty blockers for transgender persons, etc, is blind and depraved, no matter the level of its progress.

 

QUESTION: Are we walking in the light or in darkness?

 

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help us not to be deluded into believing that we are enlightened despite our moral decadence. Amen.
